Bottom Line
For those looking for a water bottle pairing sleek design with environmental consciousness, the Yomious Glass Water Bottle with Bamboo Lid provides a perfect, plastic-free option. Made of glass, this bottle is sustainable, stylish, and sturdy.
Though the glass construction is a bit too fragile for activities more adventurous than daily drinking, the bottle’s exterior is covered by a colorful silicone sheath that protects against minor bumps and falls. The Yomious ultimately surprised us in just how much impact it was able to withstand. Additionally, the lid screws on effortlessly, sealing the bottle tightly and preventing any leakage for secure, spill-free carry wherever you go.
A glass bottle might not be the best option for active, outdoor use. For hardcore use, please see our full water bottle guide. However, this is an affordable and environmentally friendly bottle to carry everything from water to your daily coffee.
How We Tested
Gear analyst Marion Tucker researched 35 water bottles and tested the top 13 in the field while hiking and climbing in Southern Utah. She conducted drop tests to evaluate their durability and ranked each bottle’s ergonomics, insulation, weight, and features after side-by-side comparisons.

Durability
It’s easy to discount the durability of a glass bottle, but the Yomious Glass water bottle surprised us with how it held up to tumbles and falls. The silicone sheath that covers a majority of the bottle’s glass exterior provides a useful layer of protection.
Still, the fragility of glass gave us pause, so we set out to find the breaking point of the Yomious with field tests in the Utah desert. During a steep approach to a crag for a day of climbing, we shoved the bottle into our pack alongside a rack of metal-lobed cams. Jostling between this host of metal pieces did not impact the Yomious. Similarly, during a drive into town, we forgot to stow the bottle safely, so it toppled from a shelf, flying across the van and landing on the floor. Once again, the Yomious survived unscathed.
Ultimately, we did push the bottle to its limit. During a hike in Canyonlands National Park, we subjected the bottle to a fall test. It shattered upon dropping onto an exposed layer of sandstone stretching across the trail. It’s no surprise dropping several feet onto a solid surface would yield this result. However, our test confirms the risks of carrying a glass bottle for outdoor use.
The Yomious glass bottle had endured up until that point. Although fragile, glass can be incredibly sturdy and long-lasting if treated with care. However, you might leave the Yomious Glass Bottle at home if you’re venturing out to the backcountry, particularly rocky terrain.

Ergonomics
The slim design of the Yomious Glass is visually striking – perfectly cylindrical with its glass body wrapped in a colorful silicone sheath that provides a firm grip. The bottle’s size and shape are not just aesthetically appealing but also provide functional practicality.
The sleek profile slips effortlessly into cup holders and bags. The bottle’s thin shape and portability make it easy to carry for your daily routines. It’s potentially a convenient option for everyday hydration.
The lid, with a woven carry handle that is soft and flexible, seals tightly to prevent leakage and unscrews to a wide mouth opening. The wide mouth access makes hand washing easier. The bottle even comes with a sponge for added convenience. You can add ice and hydration mixes with ease. Another benefit of glass is that the bottle doesn’t hold onto any residual flavors.

Insulation
The Yomious is not insulated, but glass is a decent insulator for liquids due to its low thermal conductivity. It slows heat transfer and enables liquids to remain at their intended temperatures longer. Though not as effective as insulated stainless steel bottles, the Yomious handled temperatures better than we expected for a non-insulated bottle.
Being glass, the Yomious can hold hot liquids, making it a stylish and portable option for morning tea or coffee. The silicone sheath wrapping also serves as an insulating layer and doubles as hand protection for hot drinks. With the sheath removed, we observed that hot drinks remained warm for just over an hour. Replacing the sheath extended this time to around an hour and a half. We experienced similar results with cold liquids. Our tests without the sheath documented cold water turning lukewarm in just under two hours while adding the sheath lengthened this time to two and a half hours.

Weight
At 20.9 ounces, the Yomious Glass is on the heavy side compared to the other bottles we tested. Glass is an environmentally conscious alternative to plastic, but that comes at the expense of weight. Although no other bottle we reviewed was completely plastic-free, other options promoted sustainability and reusability while minimizing weight.
The thin build of the Yomious makes it highly portable and easy to stow. However, its heft becomes apparent after a few hours. During our test hikes, we quickly felt the extra ounces it added tucked inside our pack. The Yomious is well-suited for traveling short distances – by foot or car – but not for lugging around for miles. If you’re simply in need of a desk-side water bottle companion, this bottle’s weight makes more sense.

Features
The Yomious Glass Water Bottle is one of the least customizable bottles we tested and reviewed. Available in 20 ounce and 25 ounce sizes, it lacks the accessories and different lid styles prevalent with other water bottle brands. The only aspect of the bottle that offers personalization is the silicone sheath, which comes in a dozen different colors.
The Yomious stands out as the only plastic-free bottle we tested. Made with glass, it pairs some style and eco-friendliness. Even stainless steel bottles, though reusable, often employ some amount of plastic. The Yomious eliminates this element, making it a no-brainer choice for anyone looking for ways to reduce their plastic consumption.

Should You Buy the Yomious Glass Water Bottle?
The Yomious Glass Water Bottle more than meets people’s every day hydration needs with its striking slim design and affordable cost. We like how this bottle is visually appealing and versatile with its ability to hold liquids at a range of temperatures. If you’re looking for a bottle for more intense outdoor activities, you should probably skip this glass bottle and go with something more durable. Still, as one of the least expensive water bottles we reviewed, the Yomious offers lasting value at very little cost. If you’re environmentally-minded and need a water bottle for relaxed daily drinking, the Yomious is the perfect choice.
