Meghan is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for hiking, backpacking, surfing, splitboarding, and mountain biking. She has an intense allergy to the indoors and particularly enjoys sharing the joys of type 2 fun, long slogs up snowy peaks, sleeping on the ground, and eating snickers in the dirt.
She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, where she led climbing, backpacking, hiking, and canoeing trips for college students. Her love of the outdoors sparked a career in alternative and outdoor education, teaching in many outdoor-based youth programs and schools in Vermont, Hawaii, Oregon, and Montana.
Meghan’s a proud cherry-picking thru-hiker. She’s backpacked the John Muir Trail and sections of the PCT in Oregon and Washington, the Long Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. Some of her most memorable backpacking trips have been in the Wallowas, Sawtooths, Wind River Range, and the North Cascades. She brings a wealth of dirt-bagging experience, offering valuable insights and practical tips for adventurers of all levels.
Whether on the trail or writing about gear and backcountry itineraries, Meghan’s mission is to help others explore the outdoors responsibly and confidently. She now resides in Northwest Montana, where she finds any excuse to explore nearby national and provincial parks.
