True to its name, the pack’s versatility impressed us. Whether worn around the waist, as a sling, or attached to a backpack, the Versa remained comfortable and easy to use in all configurations. Hyperlite’s signature use of Dyneema fabric is evident here, as the Versa is crafted from a durable Dyneema blend that ensures both waterproof protection and lasting durability.

How We Tested
The Versa accompanied us on numerous day hikes throughout Idaho and was also strapped to a larger pack during snowy backcountry ski trips. We conducted rigorous stress tests on the zipper to check for snags or blowouts. Additionally, we tested the fabric’s durability and waterproofness by abrading it with 160-grit sandpaper, simulating rain, and performing a dunk test.

One area for improvement is the 1-inch waist belt, which could be wider to offer better support during extended use. Additionally, the belt can feel a bit stiff when adjusting, which may take some getting used to. Dyneema fabrics are known for their durability, and the Versa certainly lived up to that reputation during our abrasion test. While the fabric showed some fuzzing, it remained intact and showed no decrease in functionality.

Over time, it tends to stain and is difficult to clean, which could affect its appearance. For users who anticipate heavy use in muddy or dusty environments, the black version of the Versa might be a more practical choice.
